Huawei mobile phone will support wireless charging

From March 14th to 16th, the AirFuel Wireless Charging Conference and Developer Forum were held in Shenzhen. Huawei, a member of the AirFuel Wireless Power Consortium and the WPC Wireless Power Consortium, has its Huawei Watt Lab share relevant information on the smartphone AirFuel wireless charging technology. This indirectly confirms that Huawei's mobile phones will support wireless charging, or will be even compatible with the Qi standard AirFuel magnetic resonance wireless charging technology.

Although Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huaweis consumer business, earlier said that wireless charging is too slow and the experience is poor. It also stated that Huawei had wireless charging capability as early as 6 years ago because it was of little significance and could not bring practical use value to users, so it was stopped. However, in the face of Apple's new iPhone all equipped with wireless charging, and domestic and foreign manufacturers have updated the environment, Huawei is hard to avoid.

It is understood that Huawei's P20 Porsche will support wireless charging, which will use the US IDT wireless reception program, supporting wireless charger, and it will be announced at the end of the month. This news is not groundless. At this AirFuel conference, Huawei Watt Lab indirectly confirmed this news. Watt Lab gave some suggestions on how to improve the performance of AirFuel technology on smartphones. In the short term, it should adopt the combination of Qi and AirFuel wireless charging solutions, and long-term can achieve a separate AirFuel solution.

In addition, the presentation slide revealed that Huawei is studying a multi-device wireless charging technology similar to Apple's AirPower. AirPower is a wireless charging board developed by Apple that can wirelessly charge iPhone 8/X, AirPods and Apple Watch at the same time. We believe that in the near future we will see Huawei's support for multi-device wireless charging accessories. Of course, before this, Huawei has to release devices that support wireless charging, such as Huawei mobile phones and Huawei smartwatches.

Huawei mobile phone wireless charging function can be said to be imperative and might use the Qi standard AirFuel magnetic resonance wireless charging technology.
