It runs on a custom interface MIUI 10 on top of Android 7.1.2 which is upgradable to Android 8 (Oreo) offering more software features that enhance the user experience.
Its camera stands out being a 12MP, f/2.2 and being able to shoot at 4K; a feature very rare for a phone in the midrange section. The company decided to stick with the old 5MP selfie camera. But it offers sharp images with a wide dynamic range and less noise. Due to camera software upgrades, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader which is very fast and responsive.
